As the New Year starts we have one thing on our minds... yes the days are officially getting longer and the season will be upon us before we know it! Are we going to go through the motions and see what happens, or what about a good old New Year's resolution aimed at our beloved Cricket...
Here's five simple ideas for you, and feel free to let us know what you're planning for the year ahead.
More run and wickets. It's an obvious one, but the key thing is figuring out how you're going to do that... Whether it be improving technique or improving your mental game - get plan together!
Get fit. Probably an even more obvious one, but it could have a big impact on the above!! But again, get a plan together and find some support to help make it happen.
Be a better team mate. We all want to bat, bowl and field when and wherever we want, but so do the other 10 players on your team... Could you aim to be the team mate that gets to training every week, runs the fielding drills a collects the subs...
Fundraise for your club. All cricket clubs need more funds (apart from those that pay a load of players of course, but we'll start that debate another day!). It could help improve facilities and is vital in keeping clubs going.
Become a coach. The chances are there are a small group or even an individual at your club that runs the junior section, they'd love a bit of help at junior training and it can be good fun!
Happy New Year everyone, and roll on the Cricket season....

The Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme has become a ray of hope for underprivileged students and unemployed youth. Through this scheme, the government is focusing on skill development, education support, and financial assistance. I personally think that such programs bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. Many young individuals are now able to pursue higher education and career goals without financial stress. Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme deserves appreciation for providing equal chances to every section of society, especially the economically weaker ones.
PDS Odisha is a very helpful initiative by the government that ensures food security for the people of the state. Through the Public Distribution System, families can get essential commodities like rice, wheat, sugar, and kerosene at affordable prices. The digital platform of PDS Odisha makes it easy for citizens to check their ration card status, beneficiary list, and ration shop details online. This transparency has reduced corruption and improved efficiency. It is a major step towards supporting poor and needy families in Odisha.
