The facility was the brainchild of Chris Berry, who was no stranger to innovation in cricket having previously founded the popular online game Stick Cricket. Upon opening the centre Chris partnered with TCA’s Head Coach Matthew Dawson, the level 3 qualified coach and former Cheshire CCC wicket keeper developed the coaching programs and together, along with a strong coaching team and the dedicated secretary/director Vicki Berry, the team have turned The Cricket Asylum into the North’s leading indoor cricket centre and coaching provider.

Offering a year-round coaching and competition program both indoor and outdoor, TCA have built on years of experience to offer the cricket community an unrivalled experience. TCA offer cricket coaching for beginners from age 5 through to advanced players who are within county and international systems. The experienced coaching team utilise the state-of-the-art facilities, analysis technology and the latest coaching methods to make visiting TCA a unique cricketing experience.

During late 2020 the facility was refurbished to now offer improved tension netting system to support indoor cricket, brand new batting carpet in all four lanes, new brighter LED lighting, and even a small gym for players to further develop themselves as all round cricketers.
