TCA's 10 Favourite Cricket Grounds!

Updated: Mar 18, 2025

Over the years, our work in cricket has taken us to some incredible grounds around the world. Some are breathtakingly scenic, others boast outstanding playing surfaces and facilities—but what they all have in common is the dedicated cricket people who run them, keeping the game as popular as ever!

Here are ten of our favourite grounds. There are so many more we could have included, so we can only apologise to those left out! To keep things fair, we’ve decided not to include any international stadiums.

In no particular order, here they are:

  1. Abhimanyu Cricket Academy (India) – Built by the inspirational Mr Easwaran, this academy is the realisation of a lifelong dream. It has to be seen to be believed—restaurants, a swimming pool, accommodation, indoor and outdoor nets, and a floodlit pitch set in the foothills of the Himalayas!

  2. Cumberland CC (St Vincent) – This place is truly special. A long, winding drive leads to a perfectly round, lush green outfield, surrounded by mountainous rainforest and backing onto the Caribbean Ocean—where you can jump off the pier to cool off! One visit, and this instantly became our Director of Cricket Matt Dawson’s number one ground in the world!

  3. Bridgeholme CC (England) – A small yet stunningly picturesque ground, beautifully kept with surrounding gardens and a superb playing surface crafted by the dedicated Keith Hudson. Nestled in the South Pennines of West Yorkshire, beneath the Stoodley Pike monument, it’s a perfect setting for cricket.

  4. Isolation CC (Barbados) – Another spectacular ground, reached via a winding road that leads to a lush green outfield surrounded by cliffs and tree-covered hills. The rustic pavilion is filled with cricket memorabilia left by visiting teams from around the world. It’s so beautiful that Scott Kershaw even proposed here!

  5. Park Hill (St Vincent) – A fantastic ground and another host venue for the TCA Global Cricket Series. Situated in the hills, it boasts a great playing surface surrounded by dramatic mountain and cliff views, overlooking the valley below.

  6. Crossover Park (St Lucia) – While still under development in terms of its playing surface and facilities, this ground is a key venue for the Global Cricket Series. Located in a charming local village on the island’s south coast, it has a boundary that literally backs onto the beach! We can’t wait to see who will be the first to hit a six into the ocean! On the other side, the ground is framed by rolling hills and dense forests.

  7. Bath CC (England) – While hosting the Lyon Cricket Academy from Australia, we played a match at Bath Cricket Club and immediately fell in love with it! Nestled in the heart of Bath, the ground offers stunning views of the city’s historic architecture and natural beauty, alongside excellent facilities—including its own indoor centre.

  8. Clifton College (England) – The Close at Clifton College is a historic and picturesque ground within the college’s campus in Bristol. Another host venue for the Lyon Cricket Academy’s 2023 UK tour, it offers a superb playing surface with the college’s stunning architecture providing a majestic backdrop.

  9. Speyside Cricket Ground (Tobago) – A fantastic Global Cricket Series host venue, used for both cricket and football. Overlooking the Caribbean Ocean in one of Tobago’s most beautiful locations, it’s full of local culture and an incredible setting for the game.

  10. Sowerby Bridge CC (England) – It was tough not to include more local grounds, but we had to feature SBCC! The closest ground to TCA HQ, it offers beautiful valley views from the newly built clubhouse balcony, great nets, and outstanding ground staff who maintain a fantastic playing surface—including their hybrid wicket. And, of course, no visit is complete without lunch at our favourite local spot, The Larder Deli in Sowerby Bridge!

That sounds like a great topic — cricket grounds always carry a unique charm, history, and atmosphere that fans love to debate. From iconic stadiums to scenic venues, everyone has personal favorites based on memories and experiences. Discussions like these show how deeply sports culture connects with identity and tradition. It’s interesting how certain visuals become timeless symbols too, much like the sharp appeal of a daniel craig white tuxedo.

To maximize funding opportunities, many organizations rely on grant proposal writing services. Experienced writers know how to highlight project impact, define measurable outcomes, and present strong narratives that appeal to funders. Their involvement often leads to more polished and competitive submissions, which is especially beneficial for schools and nonprofits working with limited internal resources.
