TCA Indoor Cricketers are off to Dubai...

Updated: Jun 1, 2023

After a long selection process we're delighted to announce six Cricket Asylum Indoor Cricketers have been selected in their respective England age group squads, to compete in the Junior World Series this coming September in the UAE!!

Teams from around the globe such as New Zealand, Australia & South Africa will be competing at this 10 day tournament, in Dubai in September this year. Our indoor cricket offering has grown significantly over the last few years, with a key part being sending Cricket Asylum representative teams to regional and national tournaments over the winters. All this hard work from players and coaches, along with our partnership with England's governing body for Indoor Cricket, has created a clear pathway and opened up opportunities for our players to work towards national selection.

Like many great opportunities of this kind, they sadly come at a cost! So to help fund this once in a lifetime experience the boys competed a 'Marathon of Singles' fundraising event, they each ran a massive 350 singles at the Cricket Asylum to jointly complete the 26 mile marathon of singles on the 1st of June!! Check out the GoFundMe page, so you can help support them on this amazing journey, any donation large or small would be gratefully received.

Congratulations to the six TCA lads who have made their national squads...

Along with the other successful players from up and down the country, our six indoor cricket stars will now start an intensive team building and training process that leads up to the tournament. Also, a special mention must go to Charlie Palmer (Thornton CC) and Oliver Henderson (Todmorden CC) who made the 16 player training squads and narrowly missed out on final selection.
