For people coming from far and wide to The Cricket Asylum, here is some information about our friends in the local area. So whilst your child is in a session or you have come to make a day of it, there is plenty to do from a quiet pint in the Jubilee to the craziness of the Reload Nerf Zone.
This is Sowerby Bridge’s newest indoor entertainment venue. They are offer an open, safe environment for children to come and have Nerf battles. It is army style Nerf shooting area, we’ve tried it and it’s great fun!
Happy Days Café and bike shop is a social enterprise business, their main outlet is a shop and café based in Sowerby Bridge. All the profits it makes goes to funding its work towards homeless people in West Yorkshire. Their aim is to reduce homelessness and give people lives they deserve, a great cause and the coffee is great!
Situated on the forecourt of Sowerby Bridge Railway Station, The Jubilee Refreshment Rooms are operated by two railway enthusiasts, Chris and Andrew Wright, who have re-created the type of Station Refreshment Rooms that would have been available during the golden age of rail travel. The Jubilee Refreshment Rooms has been 5 Star Hygiene rated and was named Calderdale Pub of the Year in 2012 mainly for it’s local real ales. The Jubilee Refreshment Rooms are a popular meeting place for both commuters and transport enthusiasts and hosts many events ranging from whisky tastings to local history talks.
